While not the most lavish Nepenthes species, (if you exclude benstonei's brief stint as the 6th member of Ben Folds Five), Nepenthes benstonei can still hold it's own in your terrarium. The leaves turn a dark red under higher lighting conditions while also adopting a rather thick, glossy coat of wax. This wax causes the yellowish-cream peristome to pop out against the surrounding canopy.
All plants are from seed. I have grown them in lowland conditions but am told they can easily do intermediate as well. I did experience a slightly longer establishment period (maybe an extra month or two) but have had steady growth since. I might eventually give intermediate conditions a try but currently in no rush.
